Elizabeth is 3!

Elizabeth turned 3. I can't believe it. We had a party for her a day early because her birthday was on a Sunday. I made her a Barbie cake, at her request and we had a few friends over and had a little party.

She wore her favorite pink zebra outfit.

Bryan sang some songs with the kids.

Blowing out the candles.
I loved her reaction to her presents. She gets so excited about everything and I love it.

The barbie from Grandma Heiner. This is my favorite picture.

Today I took some 3 yr old pictures of Elizabeth. She was kind of a stinker but I got a few good ones.

Oh what a joy Elizabeth is to our family. Right now she:
-loves to dance, all the time.
-loves to color, paint and plya with play doh.
-likes her brother a lot, but not when he pulls her hair.
-delays going to sleep/bed at all possible costs.
-Elizabeth wakes up and immediately wants to eat breakfast. Yogurt and smoothies are her favorite.
-Has become obsessed with  barbies and princesses.
-is as helpful as ever and loves to do almost everything I ask.
-is learning to be sassy, which is not my favorite thing.
-Loves Music and the Spoken word every Sunday morning. She begs for it first thing.
-Helps to lead the choir and can't wait to go to choir every Sunday.
-Loves nursery and is SOOOO excited to go to Primary.

CHRISTMAS!

Christmas Eve, we opened our traditional PJ's. And the kids looked so cute, and I felt so comfortable.
You can't tell in this picture that Oliver LOVES  the camera.

The kids together.

Elizabeth's present of accessories to her dollhouse.
I need to say that EVERY SINGLE present that Oliver opened he would say "oooooooooooo" didn't matter if it was his truck, cd, or pjs. He oood and aaad at them all. It made me want to give him 50 presents.

Elizabeth got a doctor set for Christmas and we all played with it as soon as she had him open.
Elizabeth checked my throat (and shoved her instrument down it.)

I took Elizabeth's blood pressure.
We gave the kids some food to go with their kitchen.

Oliver squealing over his truck.
Bryan's sister Nicole gave us a "dance party" box with all kinds of props. Bryan's favorite was the hardhat.....

Christmas Sunday

Every year I make the kids Christmas outfits. This year I wasn't sure I  going to get them done but pulled it out the night before.
Isn't this the perfect face for a "I'm so proud of this cute vest and tie mom made me"

I was sick, so stayed home from church and ended up getting Oliver so Bryan could enjoy church and he could nap since he was SUPER awful and grouchy.

I LOVE this Christmas dress. But I usually do love them after they are done.

Sibling love (until they hug so hard someone tackles the other.

And their handsome dad who took them both to church.

A Few Playing Pictures

We got a new table and chairs off of Craigslist for a REALLY good deal. Before the table was refinished I just had a captains chair in the front room. Every morning Oliver would climb in the captains chair after breakfast and then climb down and get a book and climb back in to 'read'.

Elizabeth loves coloring right now. I think partially because she is learning about colors but partially because the girls loves color and loves to be creative and 'make' things.
Coloring in her Barbie coloring book. She has recently started loving all things Barbie and Princess, even though I was trying with all my might to avoid both of those things.

I had to include this gem of "I dressed myself" I love it a little bith and cringe a little bit every time I see it.

We made snowmen out of paper the other day since we couldn't make them outside (it has been cold but no snow, and when it does snow, it melts the same day. I am NOT complaining)

Pre-Thanksgiving tradition

This year we decided to start a new tradition. The day before Thanksgiving we had a fire in the backyard and roasted some hotdogs and mallows. We all had a great time and it was fun to just hang out as a family.

The kids practicing cramming as many people as possible into a tiny house.

Oliver and Elizabeth are waiting patiently to cook their hot dogs.

Bryan and Oliver.

Proof I was there too.
I think it is a tradition we will have to continue as often as we are on our own for Thanksgiving. For the actual day we went to our friends Catherine and Keith's house and had a great time.
