Refurbished Dresser

I have been cleaning out my craft/sewing room and decided I needed more storage space in there. We had an old dresser that was included when we bought our trailer. So I sanded her up and gave her a new coat of paint. I have to say I think that the new look is a HUGE improvement.
This is before:

This is after (in the garage this time because the paint isn't totally dry, but I couldn't wait):

Our grow boxes

So, since I am going to be home a lot this summer, barring some miraculous job opportunity appearing, I am getting ambitious about our garden. I started by planting tomatoes, peppers, spinach, beets, and peas for our garden in a little indoor greenhouse so they are ready to go in a month. The peas got too big for the greenhouse so I had to put them in the cups. These are the grow boxes before we got the dirt on Friday, thanks to my brother Mitchell for hauling the dirt with his big truck.

Jammin'.....no really

When we were staying with Mitch and Jody before we got our house, Jody decided to "whip up" some freezer jam. It looked really easy when she did it. My mom makes freezer jam too and my dad calls it celestial jam, not because it's freezer but because it's raspberry. So when the adds came yesterday and blackberries and strawberries were on sale, I decided to go for it. The only problem is that I didn't have a recipe, so I kind of had to guess at how much fruit to buy because I couldn't remember how much Jody bought.

I guessed wrong.

I bought 12 of the 6 oz packages of blackberries and 2 of the 2 lb packages of strawberries. Basically I got in WAY over my head. Then I bought 16 1/2 cup tupperware, thinking that would be WAY too many, and 2 things of Sure-Jel just in case 1 wasn't enough.

Just in case you haven't made freezer jam before I ended up needing all 16 of those containers, 18 more 1 cup containers, two 2 1/2 cup containers and two little tiny ones that I had in the cupboard. Oh, and did I mention that I needed 3 more packages of Sure-Jel? I really would have needed 4 more packages, but I gave up after I used all the blackberries and half of the strawberries.
This is a picture of the jam, and some of the dishes that making that much jam can create.

So if you need some jam, just let me know. We've probably got enough for the rest of the year........and then some.

The closet

The way the closet was set up in our bedroom was driving Bryan NUTS. Seriously, every time he hung his clothes up, he would talk about how much he hated it. So he fixed it as seen below. I really like it lots better this way, even though I didn't expect to.

In love....with a bedspread

I wanted a bedspread for our new King bed since none of our other blankets actually cover the bed. See the bedroom picture in this post.

Well, Overstock.com had a sale two weeks ago and I got a bedspread. I loved it on the internet, but I didn't know if I would love it in person. Well this post is here to say that it's been a few weeks and I still get giddy every time I walk down the stairs and see it.
