Happy Halloween -Love Raggedy Ann and Andy

Since our real names our an alliteration, I thought it was perfect that we were Ann and Andy* for Halloween, Raggedy that is. (Actually the idea came from my mom because she has the cutest Raggedy Ann/Andy themed room in her house and I was there when I was deciding what to be for Halloween).

Thanks to Momma Roberts for lots of wig making expertise, and Mellonee for her brilliant ideas on Bryans wig and....drum roll please............................................................................................................

I'm pretty sure that we're the cutest Raggedy An and Raggedy Andy that you ever did see. In fact we were so cute, that we won the costume contest at our ward party.
Unfortunately you can't win them all..... At that same ward party, there was a donut on a string eating contest, and Raggedy Andy** put up a good fight. Unfortunately, he lost by a hair to the football player on the right. Dang you Randy, you trophy stealer!(minor fist shaking)

There was a video, but I can't get it to load so this picture will have to do.
We hope you all have a Happy Halloween, except maybe that dang football player.....

-Love Raggedy Ann & Raggedy Andy

*I just realized, that Bryan's brother's name is Andy. This is not to be confused the Bryan dressed up as an entirely different Andy in the above pictures. Sorry to any of you who thought that I may have been implying either 1) I went to a Halloween party in matching costumes with Bryan's brother, or 2) that Andy is raggedy. Please choose 3) none of the above.

**Also sorry to the real Andy, Bryan's brother, that you didn't get to participate in the donut eating contest, you missed out my friend.

Fishing with the kiddos

Amy and Kelby came up a couple weeks ago (actually almost a month) and Bryan and Kelby took Amber and Gavin fishing. The kids loved it, and I have proof.
They are fishing, and I bet they are smiling. Well, I'm guessing they are.
Here is a picture with them actually smiling.

Even though they had fun, the boys were happy to come home and have us take over the kiddos.

Changing the last name

We discovered today that we could change out last name to Heiner-Smith and it would fit well into a song if we named our first born (no we're not pregnant) John Jacob Jingle. You know.....

John Jacob Jingle Heiner Smith,
His name is my name too,
Whenever we go out,
The people always shout,
There goes John Jacob Jingle Heiner Smith,
Da da da da da da da

Sounds like a great idea right?

Trip to Sante Fe

Work sent us to Sante Fe last week. What a trip. The picture above is taken from the Sandia Crest. No, we did not take the picture it has been borrowed from the web. But had we been on the crest any of the first days we were there chances are likely that we would have been able to see this type of image. On Friday the day we were to come home we got to do some fun things. We visited the balloon fiesta... see images of balloons borrowed from the fiestas website. My favorite was the cow balloon. Also pictured below. After seeing the mass of balloons drift away we drove to the Sandia Crest (11000 ft) and viewed the city. The temperature dropped like crazy on the way up there and it was only -2 degrees Celsius when we arrived.

On the way back we went to the tinkertown museum... WOW was that place neat. This guy has carved over 600 unique clay and wood figurines and their landscapes
Not to mention the walls of the museum are made of old recycled bottles with mortar around them see below.

TO finish the trip off we were blessed with a multi hour layover in the airport. Boy was that exciting...
