This weekend we went whitewater rafting with Tanner and Amber. Amber used to be a guide in Moab so we decided to rent a boat and raft the whitewater section of the Snake River near Jackson. Not doing much planning for the trip it was an adventure... fitting a 12 ft raft into a Subaru Outback with 4 people, paddles and our stuff... finding a ride back to the put in location so we could do a second run... finding a ride back to the car so we could return the raft by 5:3o... and on and on. It was great things worked wonderfully even though we were in a small boat the Big Kahuna was no match for our expert river rafting techniques. See pictures at the following links.
So we have a few more pictures, all though not much to tell about the rest of our trip. We stayed in Sacramento for 3 days. The first day we went and met with the Army Corps of Engineers and got the breakdown of what Bryan would work on. After we met with them and had lunch we went and walked around the capital park. They had orange trees on the grounds of the capital so Bryan wanted a picture in front of it.We looked at a bunch of houses, we didn't get pictures of any of them, that were definitely......interesting. Then on Saturday we went to a River Cats game. They are the farm team for the Oakland A's and they are terrible! Before the game we went to dinner at a restaurant that was on the river. The food was so-so but the view was unbeatable. We had fun hanging out at the game and as you can see, got a few pictures of the funny kids that were sitting in front of us.
Ok so if you're a telemarketer I hope you're listening, because I think you should stop calling. But if you must call, because that is your job, at least be a human. Companies: DON'T USE AUTOMATED TELEMARKETING! It's a stupid idea, even if it seems like a good one because you're saving money on you're bottom line. So don't argue, just don't, just accept that 1) telemarketing is a rude idea, but if you must do it 2) automated systems SUCK.
Well that's what the sign said, not that you can read it behind our heads. So we are back from our trip, it was beautiful, however long the drive may have been. On our way to Sacramento we stopped and stayed the night in Reno. Our hotel/casino was kind of dumpy, but not too bad considering the screamin deal we got on it. Below are pictures of our adventures in Reno. I'll post more from the trip later, when I'm not falling off of the chair in front of the computer because of fatigue.
The sign...like I said, you can't really see it... The stuffed dog that Bryan won for me in the Circus Circus Midway Games. He's like a rockstar at skee ball. I think he's going to try to use this as an excuse to weasel out of getting me a dog when we get a house. It's not going to work buckaroo.
Bryan and I are headed to Sacramento CA this week. We are going to check out a job offer that Bryan has and just hang out in the sun. We've rented a car and are hittin' the road. So stay posted for more to come from us on the progress of our trip. I was going to post a map of our trip, but I couldn't get it to work. So instead I will have to draw one and scan it when we get back...yeah you better be excited.
I have noticed that each year before the start of school Bryan begins to get a hankering for playing video games. I come home from work and he's already home playing backgammon, or solitare, or some penguin game, or Far Cry. I'm pretty sure that it's just in preparation for the next 3 1/2 months that he won't be able to play video games because he is so swamped with work and school. I really don't mind, I just think it's funny when I am using his work computer, the preferred gaming console, and he says,"But i thought you wanted to blog on the other computer." Gotta love him.
Nicole you were missed on our hike to white pine lake on Saturday. We took some pictures for you, unfortunately the pictures give no justice to the fields of wildflowers, the majestic mountainsides or the crystal clear white pine lake.
